The best tonic water for gin, which one is it?
According to our philosophy a good tonic water does not cover the gin. Neither with the bitterness of the quinine nor with its own taste. The tonic must not change the gin. Because you want to drink gin & tonic and not tonic & gin!
Mistelhain has set itself the task of developing and producing tonic water with the aim of perfectly matching your gin. Basically, our Tonic Waters are supportive in taste with only very subtle nuances. They all have a slight bitterness.
So you can be sure that you will never do anything wrong when using our tonics. But if you want to mix like a pro, you can bring out the best of the gin by following our individual recommendation.
Since gins are very different and the so-called botanicals vary greatly, we have divided the gin world in different categories and developed the corresponding tonics for them.
Which tonic to go with which gin?
Our tonic waters support your gin exactly as it needs and without changing the gin. Even on their own, our tonic waters "AMBITION", "SIGNATURE" and "TREND" inspire with a full, aromatic mouthfeel. They are the thirst quencher for discerning connoisseurs who are looking for and love something special.
Mixed with spirits, the second life of our tonics begins.
Whether you‘ve gotten a good base gin with three botanicals, an artistically accomplished 30- botanical gin or a non-alcoholic spirit... each combination retains its personal touch and is softly enveloped in its aromas and yet supported.
AMBITION - ideal for light gins up to 43% ABV, for not too complex gins and citrus-based gins and thus most London Dry gins. SIGNATURE - ideal for stronger gins from 43% ABV. and complex gins. TREND - ideal for the New Western Gin: fruity, floral, berry and pink gin but also all others. Excellent with wine aperitif, bitter aperitif, vermouth, vodka, etc. „Trend“ is the first and only tonic dedicated to the trend towards less alcohol. Trend is the tonic for the non-alcoholic spirit. DESERT - combines the properties of all three tonics in one, but with little sugar.
Here you will find the tonic for your gin!
